As the sun broke the horizon, the fog hung about the hardwood green hills as a lace shawl lightly thrown over a bare shoulder. Summer, like stream water, seems to be slipping through my fingers. They are going to try to make a new Blade Runner, sequel or pre-sequel, and the start of school is just around the corner. Not that any of that matters, well not really. But then again, even Quarks matter, mater to particle physics. Which is all just too cosmic for me today. You begin to feel time eak away, days drag on and the months scream by. Then, there on the breeze comes a leaf, yellowed and spotted with red. Slowly falling to land on the velvety summer lawn at your feet and you wonder what September will bring. I hit the re-wind button and the leaf jumps off the ground and melodically floats up to it’s branch. September can bring that another day. Today the sun has subdued the voices, chasten the ghosts, and legitimize my reflection. I rescind time travel and for once, engross in the moment.
But that too is now gone and the moment moves on.
